Evans Head offers safe swimming in the River and patrolled beaches during the holiday seasons as well as uncrowded surf beaches around the headlands.

The Evans River and its many creeks and tributaries are teaming with wildlife and offers excellent canoeing, boating and fishing in pristine waters.

Bundjalung N.P, Broadwater N.P. and Goanna Headland have many bushwalking trails through Australian heath and littoral rainforest and are ideal places for to appreciate our native flora and fauna, go bird watching or go whale watching from September to November.

Appreciate the whole area by driving from the centre of town across the Bridge, past the Boat Harbour take the Ocean drive and enjoy spectacular views from Razorback Lookout. Walk along the training wall to see the dolphins at the River mouth, watch the trawlers as they cross the bar to bring you a bounty of fresh seafood.
